The names of the selected candidates will be announced on September 11, 2019.
Reversing the trend
In launching this scholarship program, Sarralle is committed to eradicating the technological gap between men and women, as well as empowering women in positions of management and responsibility.
Women's activity remains lower than that of men. We have many factors, such as cultural and social factors, as well as the idiosyncrasies of today's labor market. Even in terms of power, women are also less empowered. Although there is an increasing presence in new and generally male-dominated markets, the number of women is decreasing as the professional category rises, and almost disappears in management and responsibility positions.
Studies in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) are the basics for future professional training. But there is a growing concern about the lack of students who are interested in these studies worldwide, and even more so by gender.
Only 28% of STEM students are women, and only 45% of those enrolled are graduating. Recognizing that these are future studies, Sarralle wants to recognize women who want to have a place in these studies and to promote equal pay and equal work in all aspects. In addition, it is just as important to encourage women to enroll in STEM studies as they are in the field of engineering or in any social field to prepare for positions of management and responsibility and / or people management positions.
This is precisely the reason for Sarralle’s commitment to helping to finance tuition for each student college year. In addition, they will have the opportunity to take paid internships in the engineering field and corporate departments during the summer, as well as to complete an undergraduate project in the Division of the Group that wants to develop their studies.
