This strategy is part of the social network's commitments to enhance and focus its content on education and dissemination in scientific and technological fields, and follows the same action it carried out in the United States last year.
TikTok boosts STEM educational content in Europe. Since the launch in the United States, the global number of STEM content videos published has reached 15 million, according to company data.
In addition to this, TikTok has also carried out agreements with variousassociations with the purpose of promoting high-quality, accurate and relevant STEM content, with the aim of transforming the platform into a learning space in which users can become familiar with science. and technology in an entertaining and educational way.
Regarding the Feed Para Ti, users can select the STEM feed to access a variety of content in English, which has automatically translated subtitles. It will be supervised by two independent entities, and will incorporate the contribution of different creators and partners on the platform who are active in STEM fields, from scientists conducting experiments to publications coming from the space field.
TikTok has taken into account the age of its users when incorporating the new feed. Minors will see this function activated by default, but they can deactivate it through the content settings. Instead, those over 18 years of age will be able to choose the STEM content feature through the same app settings.
