THE STANDARDIZATION OF BASQUE IN THE XXI

Euskaltzaindia and the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of the University of Mondragón have jointly designed 'The normalization and normalization of Basque in the 21st century. The objective of the diploma is to prepare people who can participate in Euskaltzaindi projects.

Normalization and normalization of Basque in the 21st century. It aims to provide solid training on the most important directions that it can take in the 21st century. New specialization diplomas, with the aim of training future professionals. It will be a theoretical-practical specialization diploma and the teaching staff will be Basque teachers who work in the daily work of Euskaltzaindia and teachers from the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences.

 

Training for Euskaltzaindia projects

Euskaltzaindia wants to adapt its mission, projects and its work of social integration and attract and train new people to work in the two departments that Euskaltzaindia has had since its beginnings: the IKER department (normalisation of Basque in the 21st century) and the JAGON department (promoting the social use of Basque together with the rest of the actors involved in it).

The professions of the people who complete a specialisation diploma can be:

  • Technician in Euskaltzaindia projects: corpus construction, lexicography, dialectology, onomastics, morphosyntax, language law, social use of Basque...
  • Technician in the subject matter of the subjects covered in the specialisation diploma in public, private and associative institutions.
  • Researcher in the field of the subjects covered in the specialisation diploma.
  • Basque technician in public, private and associative organisations.

In addition, Euskaltzaindia will create a job pool at the end of the specialization diploma. Those who have completed a specialization diploma will have priority in this job pool, according to the grades of the diploma.

 

Price and availability

The postgraduate course will be taught in a semi-presential mode. The course will start on October 1, 2024 and will end on May 23, 2025; The face-to-face sessions will take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Euskaltzaindia headquarters in Donostia. Thanks to the Euskaltzaindia scholarship, registration will be cheaper: 3,150€
