From 7th to 10th of December, Bilbao BEC (Bilbao Exhibition Center) VII. It was the epicenter of the Fun & Serious festival, the most important festival dedicated to video games in Europe. During those days, the great founders, developers, screenwriters, producers, indie scene adventurers, investors and multinational and local companies found themselves there. It is worth mentioning that this event mainly focuses on the artistic, anthropological, cultural and business side of video games, but of course without forgetting digital entertainment.
During four conferences, conferences, laboratories, business meetings, demos and experts were organized. It was the first time this festival was held at the BEC. In fact, this change of place allows for an increase in its echo, attracting more visitors and increasing its adaptability. However, the F & S festival ended at the Guggenheim Museum with the distribution of the prestigious Titanium Awards.
The impact of the festival has already been consolidated. There were 25,000 people from all over the world, divided into different events organized by the festival. Business participation was also very good, with 100 signing companies, co-workers or sponsors, of which 25% were overseas.
A whole human ecosystem and institutional video game set was held at the festival, not forgetting a lot of players from historical talents, promoters of electronic sports, influencers, employers, etc. All of which aims to provide video game information, cultural and economic, worthy of industry.
Titanium Awards
The three great talents of the international video game were awarded this year's Titanium Awards at the Guggenheim Museum. The Pinacoteca Bilbao took this party. These were the winners: Fumito Ueda, an intimate and prized actress, including The Last Guardian and Shadow of the Colossus; Jade Raymond, who has been working on Sony, Ubisoft and Electronic Arts, has been producing productions such as Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs and Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Tom Clancy; and Brenda Romero, a woman recently awarded as Legend, has contributed 47 titles in the last four decades, some of which are very important for defining the role genre, like Wizaldry.
As every year, an international jury recognized the best international, consolidated and independent internships, and awarded honorable Titanium to the world's most talented performers, as well as FSPlay and the best of Basque Game for independent works. Finally, let's say that this year's award-winning giant trio (Ueda, Romero and Raymond) joins some of the undisputed historical titans: Yuji Naka (Sonic's creator), Alexey Pajitnov (Tetris), Peter Molyneux (Trial), Tim Schafer (Monkey Island) John Romero (Doom, founder of Wolfenstein), Jordan Mechner (Prince of Persia) and Jeff Kaplan (World of Warcraft, Overwatch ...).
