The 25 most coveted digital professions

Mastering technology is a prerequisite for any job, and knowing digital is almost as important as knowing other languages. It is not understood today that one does not speak English; and, in the same way, it is not understandable for anyone who does not know how to apply new technologies in their office everyday. Indeed, the labor market is increasingly demanding more digital profiles; especially in the marketing sector that accounts for 41% of job offers. Most of them are focused on filling digital marketing manager positions. This requirement fulfills the offer of 31%. Moreover, it has been the most requested job in the last four years.
This is the result of the Top 25 digital professions from the 2017 research carried out by Inesdi Digital Business School in collaboration with Íncipy Digital Strategic Partner and Indigital Advantage. Bids were analyzed in nine different areas. Overall, 283 jobs were considered, from 180 different companies.
 
Digital or technological?
Digital transformation has disrupted the labor market. Businesses have faced new needs and have sought out innovative profiles that are sometimes not well defined. Joana Sánchez, President of Inesipi and Inesdi, was born of this disorder because they were not aware of the distinction between digital and technology professionals: “These are terms that have to be distinguished, although many companies have not. So they were having difficulty figuring out what they needed, their roles and salary level. Technological profiles are what make and measure new tools. For their part, digital are the ones that use this technology in different company ports. "
In this regard, there are five key technology professions: iOS and Android app developer, backend developer, UI / UX designer, 3D modeler and animator and web developer. For its part, this year the list of digital professions has included four new professions: traffic manager, customer intelligence analyst, digital account manager and chief information security officer (CISO).
 
Development
Over the last year, a growing specialization in digital jobs is evident. For this reason, "bids are more widespread across areas than in previous years, where a large number of locations came together under the umbrella of digital marketing and social media," the report says. This is in second place despite losing three points compared to 2016. It is third in social media manager (7%).
In this scenario, one area that has gained the most momentum has been big data & business analytics, including one of the most innovative profiles. He is a customer intelligence analyst and uses analytical methods to measure customer insight and business collision. As a result, the data world is already filling 7% of the job offer, with digital analysts standing out. That figure rises to 9% if other analytics-related locations, such as e-commerce analyst specialist, traffic manager and human resources analyst, are added.
Other areas that follow the same steps of big data are digital sales, digital account manager, and cybersecurity, the chief information security officer (CISO) profile. These requirements are first included in the ranking of applicants.
 
Sectors and locations
It is slowly seeing how digitalization is reaching all businesses. According to Sanchez, these profiles are the most demanded in the consumer, telecommunications, digital content, services, banking and insurance sectors. The industry and the pharma, on the other hand, are quite behind.
Digital language experts are also being sought for locations of various levels and this year there has been an increase in executive and managerial jobs. In this respect, digital strategy works include: digital manager, digital communication director and digital transformation project manager.
 
Most Valuable
In this work environment, the digital manager and chief information security officer are fortunate to have the highest salary, with an average salary of between $ 80,000 and $ 100,000 per year. They are followed by e-commerce manager (50,000-150,000 euros) and digital communication directors (60,000-120,000 euros).
 
Conditions
The majority of jobs are in Madrid and Barcelona. The capital is primarily looking for analytics and big data specialists, and the City of Conde, for its part, is interested in e-commerce and digital content experts.
In any case, every job offer requires the skills needed to thrive in a digital environment: learning ability, negotiation, service orientation, decision making, emotional intelligence, teamwork, creativity, motivation, critical thinking and problem solving.
