Technology paradise for those who do not intend to be wealthy
As the head of the technological center Ibai Zabaleta says, technology is an excuse to unite, understand how technology works and transform it into the original sense of the hacker word.
There are only two conditions in the Hirikilabs corner: it is possible to do everything in group and get the technology open to everyone. There are many: sewing machines, 3D printers, screens, vertical orchards, etc.
The article talks about those who use Hirikilabs, with multiple profiles and different purposes. However, the space in Donostia has found its space. For example, Carlos Garcia is retired and goes to Tabakalera every day. He is learning from everyone, younger than himself. While talking about the projects he works, we can see Precious Plastic. He has taken information from the internet and has developed it with others. The machines, they spray plastic to obtain special funds and use them in 3D printers.
In 2012, the project began in a Summer Lab. At the moment, all of them, at work, have already achieved what is at stake today. Hirikilabs projects are open, workshops are being developed at specific times, and nowadays it is possible to work with different working groups.
We also had the opportunity to listen to Violeta Yarza's project: he wanted to make a collection of old eucalyptus and today he has a recycling plan for all the umbrellas. It is clear that he does not want to search for "next branch" because these projects are expensive but they say that there are other options. Everything is already invented, the key to putting the project into operation.
In Zabalea's opinion, some things still need to be improved, such as users should use their own use, then they should give something. There must be a two-way exchange. Many are hard-pressed after the project is developed, everything is written, but it is necessary and surely it will be achieved.
