As mentioned in the eWorld issue, in four days (December 7th to 10th), Fun & Serious turned BEC into a European video game industry. Every year, the festival ended with the distribution of prizes for the best games of 2018. Main Loop's 'Submersed' video game developed by the PlayStation Talents Games Camp in Bilbao, the Basque Video Game, won the Best Award.
Main Loop is a development studio of indie, created in Bilbao in 2017 and chosen to participate in the second edition of the PSTalents Games in Bilbao. Since one year ago, Beaz has been working for the production of Submersede in Campen's headquarters. It is a horror game in the first person, and challenges users to escape from a submarine base.
Although his career is short, Main Loop unites achievements with each other. In 2017, they were finalists in AZPlay, shortly afterwards they were selected as part of the Camp Party and now they have been awarded the Best Euska Video Game Award at Fun & Serious, "for offering a gaming experience that does not endanger the emotions and offer a high end." In this first quarter of 2019, they will also be released on their PlayStation 4 and PC.
The award is "as a recognition of the work, the patience and effort required by the video game industry, and as a small economic boost, but above all as a boost to its visibility". In their view, "we are experiencing a great era of video game history, a moment of change, which can not be overlooked by Biscay if it wants to be an active part of the digital industry."
Welcome to under water
José Antonio Muñoz, CEO of Main Loop Videogames (Executive Director), according to Game Designer, "Submersed" is a horror and survival experience in the first person, where the gameplay will be captured by a subterranean base and a deadly situation it will become We do not want to explain much of his plot, but like horror and especially monster movie enthusiasts, I wanted to bring a similar experience to the world of videogames. We put a special emphasis on creating a terrifying and terrifying environment for the player and not being so horrified as in other genres. "
On the other hand, Muñoz explained the origins of Main Loop: "For two years it has been generating games for mobile phones, but it's always a hobby, not working professionally. I have always wanted to work in this sector and after joining the PSTalents program, we decided that this was the time to commit to that and professionally do our best. "
"We knew about PSTalent," says Muñoz, "when we were nominated for AZPlay Indie game events. From then on we started to work on the clock to get everything ready and finally everything went well. When we were selected, our first reaction was fulfilled for the work done and, of course, great satisfaction. We celebrated the same day at Global Game Jam. "
