Some years ago there was a significant progress in the world of luggage: thanks to the wheels attached, it was a lot easier to get around the luggage with the help of luggage. The technology, however, is moving forward and now Travelmate has decided to go far beyond that. This company is headquartered in California (USA) and has introduced a suitcase robot that will keep the owner at all locations without having to drag or push the suitcase.
Characteristics
What are the characteristics of this suitcase that has surprised everyone? It is controlled through an application that can be found on smart phones, moves at a maximum speed of 11 km / h and has sensors that can prevent obstacles.
The suitcase is available in three sizes, as well as in many colors, which can be moved vertically or horizontally and allows the traveler to carry another bag or suitcase. His movements are multi-directional. The battery can be easily removed as well as used to charge almost all other devices via a USB port and standard power outlet.
It also tells you how much everything you put inside weighs in, something very important when checking in so you don't have to pay for excess baggage.
“The suitcase works like a robot in practice, and uses artificial intelligence and automatic learning to optimize its movements. Wheels in all directions allow for greater stability, which could not be achieved in any other way, ”they say.
Control from a mobile
It remains to be seen whether this suitcase can actually move among many crowds, as the manufacturers promise. It is equally susceptible to bumps and scratches, as is the case with other luggage at airports.
This smart suitcase was unveiled at the CES Fair in Las Vegas, among many other innovations. It is already available through the company's website, although it should be noted that the suitcase is no longer delivered. “We are receiving a high level of demand. Your order will be completed within 90 days of purchase, ”says Travelmate's website.
In terms of pricing, the smallest carry on model (55x20x40 cm) costs $ 1,099 (886 euros). The medium size (69x29x49 cm) costs $ 1,295 (1,044 euros) and the largest (75x31x52 cm), $ 1,495 (1,205 euros).
Fully equipped
Travelmat has two USB ports for charging devices, an ergonomic handle, a smart dial, remote lock, speakers, a battery close sensors.
Its wheel mechanisms facilitate mobility as if it were a small vehicle. It also has GPS technology in it, to find out where the suitcase is.
The wheels of this spectacular suitcase can go in any direction, with LED lights on. Wireless technology and Bluetooth has not been developed to be controlled from a smart phone, as if it were a remote control.
As mentioned, the product is not cheap and is no longer available. Specifically, it went on sale in February last year. The United States, Europe and Japan were the first to start their division.
