The Basque company RK Informatika, based in Gernika, has decided to pay for the gym memberships of its employees, of no less than 15 nationalities, to improve performance and the atmosphere at work. Judging by the results, its commitment to CrossFit, which is the modality that the company pays for, is paying off for the moment, because in addition to improving personal self-esteem, which is having an impact on work performance, the number of sick leave has been reduced.
People are more motivated, in a better mood and with much more energy in their day-to-day life. Creating a work environment in which everyone can give their best.
The company decided on CrossFit because the founders had experienced the benefits of this sport. CrossFit is a discipline that promotes not only physical exercise, but also values such as teamwork, self-improvement and mental resistance. It is also very adaptable, allowing each person to participate at their own pace. Having CrossFit Gernika just a few minutes walk from the office makes it even easier for the team to attend. The idea of training together has strengthened the bonds between colleagues, as they share an experience that goes beyond work.
Most employees attend at least three times a week, but it is not a mandatory activity. There are plans for 12, 17 or unlimited classes, each person chooses the one that best suits their needs.
In addition to the CrossFit program, they are implementing a psychological therapy service for employees, to help with comprehensive well-being.
