Practical and minimalist urban mobility

Electrification brings original transport alternatives that aim to chart the future of carbon-free urban mobility, with a special focus on everyday travel. The latest invention to arrive is the project called Capitole by the French startup Maillon Mobility.

It is a fun, semi-enclosed, modular three-wheeled electric vehicle for up to four passengers, and is technically classified as an electric bicycle. Therefore, in addition to being beneficial for the environment, it also invites you to exercise.

Maillon Mobility's goal is to recover the pleasure of driving around the city by developing this practical, economical and ecological mobility alternative. The Capitole has an elegant and very original appearance. It is ten times lighter than a car and allows you to transport various items and packages easily and comfortably.

Advantages

It is ten times lighter than a car and can carry up to two adults and two children. It will be driven by a single person, but can comfortably carry two adults and two small children in an optional front module. All this is achieved thanks to its modular design, which adapts to all uses and user needs. To do this, it has a safe and efficient front compartment that can be opened or closed depending on what is being transported.

Halfway between an electric microcar, a motorbike and a tricycle, it can be used in all types of climates thanks to its doorless body, which has a roof and ensures driving safety. It has intelligent pedal assistance that adapts to the physical requirements of the drivers.

The rear wheels, the two front wheels, with wide tires, and disc brakes give it perfect stability. For its part, the steering column and the seat are reminiscent of some electric scooters that allow the occupant to travel while sitting.

Features

It has a range of 50 km and a maximum payload of 250 kg. The engine is mounted on the rear and allows it to reach a maximum speed of 25 km/h. The vehicle has a range of approximately 50 km with a full charge and a maximum payload of 250 kg.

One of the strengths of this new electric proposal is its customization. As a base, it comes with a diaphanous structure without doors and with rearview mirrors, but you can close the body with transparent and flexible side doors with windows, and you can also choose the angle of the windshield.

There are many compartments and optional elements to get the most out of it, such as a luggage rack, charging supports, etc. Another advantage it offers is the reduction of the carbon footprint, both in manufacturing and in maintenance. Parts and other components can be easily replaced.

The infinite possibilities of Capitole's modularity are demonstrated with images from the work of French industrial designer Gaëtan Francq, who dared to imagine such interesting options for the tricycle, such as a sunroof, bread rolls, wine bottles, coffee containers or surfboard transport supports.

Combination between car and bicycle

In these times like today, when urban transport is constantly evolving, mobility brands are increasingly focusing on developing environmentally friendly solutions for urban mobility, in order to meet the needs of citizens looking for sustainable and efficient transport solutions.

This is the unique alternative brought by the French start-up Karbikes, which has presented a new concept of an electric vehicle that is halfway between a bicycle and a microcar. With the same name as the start-up itself, it has four wheels, two seats, designer headlights, a windshield and a complete body that looks like a miniature car.

However, in practice it is closer to a type of electrically assisted cargo bike, whose 250 W motor is only activated when pedaling. In this way, with a clever combination of practicality and environmental commitment, Karbikes (that is the name, in the plural) promises to offer the advantages of an electric bicycle and the greater stability and comfort of a compact car.

Maximum speed 25 km/h

It has electric pedal assistance thanks to a 250 W motor. All this means that it can be the perfect companion for city commuting. Made with a steel frame, aluminum roof, polycarbonate windshield and, later, rigid lockable doors, this innovative electric vehicle is designed to protect the rider from wind and rain, offering greater stability and safety.
