Odyssey, a new video game monitor

On January 6, at CES 2020, Samsung Electronics, the world leader in the gaming monitor market, unveiled a new line of innovative curved Odyseey monitors for video games. The new line was completely redesigned, taking into account the players, and includes completely new curved screens and new performance features that are industry-leading and offer a whole new way to play.

The industry-leading G9 model screen is 49 inches, while the G7 model is 32 or 27 inches. The two new monitors on the Odyssey have been completely redesigned, taking immersion games to the next level. Both monitors have a very deep curvature: they are the first monitors with a high-performance 1000R curvature, and their QLED image quality is amazing.


The high performance of the monitor has been verified by TÜV Rheinland itself. TÜV Rheinland is a leading international certification body and has awarded Samsung its first high-performance 1000R display screen, as well as the industry’s Eye Comfort certification.
Players will benefit from a 1 ms response time and a 240 Hz RapidCurve, placing them in the middle of the action. Samsung's new gaming monitors will be compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC and Adaptive Sync in DP 1.4. These two monitors have also been redesigned with a whole new look at how game monitors can look.

The curved game monitor has been completely redesigned to give players a whole new and immersive experience. "


Immersion and speed are crucial, as the games are more competitive than ever. New game technical upgrades for new monitors take into account the speed requirements, responsiveness, and minimal distractions of players, and give them the best possible gaming experience.

49 ”G9: The most immersive gaming experience

The G9 Dual Quad High-Definition (DQHD; 5120 x 1440 resolution) is the world's first gaming monitor with a 240 Hz fast update speed, 1 ms response time, 32: 9 aspect ratio, 1000R one deep and immersive curvature, and a maximum brightness of 1000 cd / m2.


The monitor features Quantum dot technology, which is shared with an HDR1000 VA panel with clean details to produce realistic colors. The combination of response time and fast update frequency eliminates world-leading 1000R curves and eliminates distractions and delay times, creating ultra-light screen transitions for critical moments in the game where a split second can make the difference between winning and losing.


32 ”and 27” G7: A completely new gaming experience

Players will realize that the G7 has a fast response time and update frequency, with the G9 having the same deep curved screen and the same overall performance in smaller models, 32 and 27 inches. The Quad-High Definition (QHD; 2560 x 1440 resolution), 16: 9 aspect ratio and G7 HDR600 VA panel are complemented by a maximum illumination of 600 cd / m2. In addition, the G7’s QLED display, with Quantum dot technology, provides a huge range of accurate color reproduction, which is kept clear, even in bright light.
