The health crisis has also changed the way we work, and as a result, thousands of companies have started teleworking overnight. At the same time, the technological acceleration of our time is also advancing, changing the labor market and creating new demands.

One of the latest positions that many companies have begun to demand is the figure of remote work manager, especially in U.S. companies. But also in Spain, where companies have been forced to hire people who have the ability to manage teams and implement much lighter and more efficient organizational models.

Now that it is not necessary to go to work in person, it is extremely important that business organizations be the figure of an organizer who acts as a bridge between all remote employees and their bosses. We have also seen that some companies have adapted and diversified their services to the changing reality of work. Without going any further, some hotels that were once touristy serve remote staff. In the end, each time of crisis brings opportunities. As a result, companies have become much more flexible in terms of strength, both in terms of employees and customers. The American company Monster is expanding its job offer exponentially by hiring logistics specialists and coordinators, as well as supply chain analysts. This shows us that there are no longer only warehousing, delivery or transport jobs related to this professional field, which is an increasingly specialized sector for greater excellence.

In the same way, Meister emphasizes the role of organizations that are increasingly committed to the environment; so new jobs related to sustainable management will be created in the coming years.

Digitization by force

Another job that is being created is related to e-commerce. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, many companies have had to digitize in order to continue to offer their services in record time. As a result, the demand for jobs like SEO technicians or digital marketers has grown exponentially, not to mention in the field of Big Data or ‘data scientist’. Companies are increasingly committed to a more diverse work environment.

Andrew Chamberlain, chief economist at the corporate information website Glasdoor, is betting that they will see an increase in diversity managers in the coming years.
