A project to design natural areas has energized Busturialdea (I)

The ninth edition of the business ideas proposed by young people from Busturia was closed last December 15, at the BBK Klima Aventura in Busturia, crowning Iñigo Arruabarrena from Ibarrangelu, whose project called Haziberriak won the first prize, worth 3,000 euros. The second prize went to Urdaibai Surf Center, for the idea put forward by Unai Romero from Busturia - it received 2,000 euros. The prize for the project related to the primary sector, on the other hand, was received by Etxetu Tomatiek, by Jon Gerrikaetxebarria from Gernika.

Likewise, Zuresku was the initiative that received the award for the best idea to be created or developed in the technology-based start-up category. There were ten projects submitted to the competition, where the jury highlighted the "high quality of the ideas in the competition".

The jury of the competition highlighted the creativity shown by the young people of Busturialde: "they sent us very interesting ideas". The awards are organized by the youth services of Bermeo and Gernika-Lumo, in addition to those given by the rural development association of Urremendi in the other small towns of the region. And they want to promote entrepreneurship among the young people of the area, giving wings to their creativity when launching new business initiatives.

This is the case of Haziberriar, the creator of the idea. This new service, which is based on the design and installation of natural spaces, "taking into account the contributions that can be made from both permaculture and regenerative agriculture and animal husbandry". In the case of the second winner, the Urdaibai Surf Center, the idea is based on the establishment of a new concept of a sliding sports theme park. It wants to facilitate their practice with a wave pool - with an area of between 400 and 600 square meters - together with a pump track area - with circuits similar to skate parks - all with specialized monitors.

The third prize went to Etxetu Tomatiek. Equipped with a thousand euros, the concept is based on the sale of tomatoes, albeit in an innovative way. As its founder, Jon Gerrikaetxebarria, explained, the main product he already sells "is the tomato, the tomato that has been keeping and storing its seed for fifty years". "It is food aimed at a customer who wants a premium product".
