The Dean of the University of Mondragon, Jon Altuna, presented the keys to this new educational model, which said that the current paradigm will be reviewed in the field of teaching and assessment. In this way, Mendeberri 2025 is a breakthrough in Mondragon UNIBERTSITATEA's goal of addressing educational innovation and responding to changes in society, companies and organizations. The previous education project at Mondragon University, Mendeberri, was launched in 2004 and led to an educational revolution, amongst others, transforming university teaching-learning processes. Mendeberri 2025 has taken a step further in leading the educational processes of the university's innovative role.
Jon Altuna Mendeberri developed three frameworks in 2025: modular design and training assessment; The six axes that define the profile of future students and graduates of Mondragon University and their training, personalization and training experience.
The first area is modular design training and continuous assessment, which is aligned with the learning based on the competences that students must develop. The implementation of active methodologies is based on the competences that students have to develop, such as autonomous and cooperative learning. This places the student at the center of learning and involves changes in the role of teachers and student thinking.
The second area is responsible for personalizing and flexible the academic route; In this way, connectivity, digitalization, self-regulation and customization of training are key factors.
