I have participated in a project involving four Basque technology centers, UPV-EHU and translation, which have created the automatic Modela translator into Spanish-Basque. The system uses highly-upgraded technologies, such as deep learning. The Basque Government and SPRI support the project through Elkarte's support research.

 

The model implies a qualitative breakthrough in the field of linguistic technology in Basque. To date, all translators have been greatly reduced and have not considered all the morphological features of the Basque language. Thanks to the neuronal study, this translator can do very good translations. The project manager says "It's the perfect quality in all translations".

 

Models Vicomtech, Eluhyar Foundation, Ixa Group of the UPV-EHU, ISEA, MondragonLingua and Ametzagiña participated. Those who have worked on the research claim that their purpose is not to extinguish the translators, but rather to allow them to have texts in Basque from different environments.
