Time to enroll in Primary Education

On 1 June, the deadline for submitting applications for Vocational Training for the 2020-2021 academic year opened in schools in the Basque Autonomous Community. It will be open until June 19th.
As usual, students will have two ways to register: online or in schools. Procedures must be carried out at the school during local office hours. Online applications must be made through the Department of Education's website: www.euskadi.eus/hezkuntza

In the 2020-2021 academic year, there will be 186 schools in the Basque Autonomous Community that offer the opportunity to study a Training Cycle. Vocational Training currently offers 136 degrees in the Basque Country, all of which come from 23 professional families. In the 2019-2020 academic year, which is coming to an end, more than 42,000 students are studying a Vocational Training course in the Basque Country in one of the following modalities: face-to-face, distance or part-time.

The calendar to consider, therefore, is as follows:

  • June 1 to 19: deadline for applications (online: until June 19, and only for the first level of the cycle)
  • July 7: Publication of provisional lists of accepted and non-accepted forms.
  • Until July 8: Submission of claims to the provisional lists
  • July 13: Publication of final lists of accepted, rejected and rejected.
  • July 13 to 17: regular registration period (both inclusive)
  • July 21-31: Unusual enrollment period, Phase I.
  • September 1 to October 16: Extraordinary enrollment period, II. phase

On the other hand, it is worth mentioning that the registration period is open for those who want to study a Vocational Training course in a distance mode until 9 June. BirtLH (Integrated Vocational Training Centers for Virtual and Digitized Learning) offers the opportunity to study a number of intermediate and advanced distance education courses in a semi-face-to-face training modality.

BirtLH

The order of the Minister of Education, Universities and Research of 11 October 2010 in the Basque Country is regulated by the telematic training of Vocational Training courses in a distance mode. The modules passed in this telematic modality will have full value as part-time teaching.

  • The following is a semi-face-to-face partial offer telematic modality:
  • The telematic modality is based on the use of information and communication technologies, as well as the use of various resources offered by the Internet. Through these, autonomous and collaborative learning is encouraged.
  • Some parts of the modules will be included as face-to-face teaching when required by the characteristics of the module or the methodologies to be used.
  • The tutor will direct and monitor the learning process, constantly collecting data on the student's progress, providing guidance and providing solutions to any queries that may arise regarding the content or activities of the course. During the course, the tutor will respond to student requests within a maximum of 24 hours.

The program will also indicate the tutoring schedule for each module, by telephone, chat or video conference, so that our students have the opportunity to have a direct relationship with the tutors.

BirtLH evaluation system

  • Continuous assessment: in each teaching unit, various assessment activities are carried out, both through tasks carried out electronically and through face-to-face activities.
  • Partial assessment: this is voluntary and takes place in the middle of the academic year, in annual modules.
  • Final Assessment 1: Those who have passed the continuous assessment may be submitted.
  • 2nd final evaluation: 1. those who have not passed the final evaluation can be presented.

The aim is to assess the student's initiative, autonomy and ability to work in a team through participation in different activities.

The aim of the assessment activities in the teaching units is to take into account the day-to-day work and ensure that the objectives planned for the course have been achieved.

Face-to-face exams can be both written and practical. These aim to ensure that professional competencies have been acquired and that the author of the tasks is the student himself.

  • Distance Vocational Training, with personalized follow-up: A range of intermediate and advanced vocational training cycles are available in a semi-face-to-face mode, where, based on different modules, a training route adapted to needs and situations is defined. Always offering active learning that will focus on activities, with a team of teachers and support at the service.
  • Part-time Vocational Training: As all the competencies required by Vocational Training graduates cannot be practiced remotely, it is certain that in certain modules, the learning and assessment activities carried out through the learning platform will be combined with attendance. To this end, a network of schools located in different provinces is available to carry out these attendance sessions wherever desired.
  • Intermediate training cycles: Electrical and automatic installations; Health emergencies; Cooking and gastronomy; Care for people in a situation of dependency.
  • Higher education cycles: Mechanical manufacturing design; Network computer systems administration; Mechanical manufacturing production scheduling; Development of multi-platform applications; WEB application development; Administration and Finance.
