Kzgunea The telecentre network created by the Basque Government to promote digital impetus in the Basque Country has launched a generational interdisciplinary project to bring ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) closer to adults and to overcome digital divide. The project called 'ConectaJoven' is a pioneer, and is a generation of experiences, educational and social; In this context, young people between the ages of 15 and 19 will give them adult workshops on basic computer skills. It is an experience between the Department of Public Governance and the Department of Self-government and the Government of Vitoria-Gasteiz, in collaboration with the Basque capital city.
The project has two goals:
- Encourage participation in training activities to enhance digital skills in young people.
- Ensuring the inclusion of adult digital reality in the use of TICs (Information and Communication Technology) in a profitable way and ensuring the efficient use of technology. The 'ConectaJoven' project has two stages and a closing event:
- First phase: at this time, students are learning what knowledge and what they need to know about how to do it.
- Second phase: from next month and two months (November and December), generational workshops will begin. The kids will teach technology, in this case, all adult people who sign up for the WhatsApp mobile messaging application.
- Closing ceremony: when the first two phases are completed, all participants, adults and youngsters will be included in the same space, and diplomas will be distributed, in order to verify the work they have done in some cases and, in other cases, to act in the workshop.
65 YOUNG PARTICIPANTS
65 young people from 5 centers of Vitoria-Gasteiz (IES Federico Baraibar BHI, IPI Sansomendi, IES Los Herrán BHI., CIP Samaniego IPI, IES Mendebaldea BHI) will participate in the intergenerational workshops. The activities will take place in the Kzgunea centers in Hegoalde, Iparralde and Lakua, Vitoria-Gasteiz.
The workshops will be held in groups of up to 12 people, 3 youngsters and 6 adults. In this way, each young person interacts with 2 adults. In groups there will always be a corresponding Kzgun teacher. Furthermore, when organizing the team, the gender balance will be sought.
KZGUNEA NET
The KZgunea network began in 2001 to enable citizens to access ICTs (information and communication technologies) and their use. Over the years, it has helped to overcome the digital divide between citizens and new technologies, in order to provide services that promote digital competence in society, and thus focus on the Basque Government's Digital Agenda and the objectives of the 2020 strategic project Euskadi 2020.
