Ikaslan Bizkaia launched the IkasEnplegu initiative two years ago and has since managed a total of 845 specific job offers for vocational training graduates (in the second year, there will be 645 more than in the first). He has also been involved in nearly 500 contracts that have finally been signed.
To promote the employability of primary school students and, at the same time, to respond to the need for intermediate and advanced technicians in the production system of the Basque Country, the IkasEnpleu Labor Mediation Service was set up.
It is registered as a professional placement agency and is made up of a team that has extensive experience in vocational mediation and is well acquainted with the profiles, tools and recruitment processes that have received or are receiving training in vocational training courses that may be of interest to organizations. They provide guidance and support to companies in the search for and selection of employees, both in regular recruitment and in recruitment programs related to the world of work (First Choice) and on-the-job training (Dual Shift Vocational Training).
In addition, IkasEngugu has a job bank that allows vocational and alumni students to create their professional profile according to the technical and transversal skills that are gradually developed, and this profile can be updated as the interested party progresses in their personal development and work experience. Not only that: job seekers have the opportunity to present themselves as candidates for active offers in the job market.
On the other hand, IkasEnplegu provides a free personalized counseling service to those registered in the job market; specifically, it helps them identify the training trajectories that will lead them to meet a specific professional profile and the areas of work with the highest employability. All primary school students or graduates can register at IkasEnplegun; It does not matter if you have studied at the Bizkaia Ikaslan network or at another school in the Basque Country. The goal may also be to enter the job market or make a change of direction in one’s professional career. Moreover, 35% of those registered in the job market are employed, 46% are unemployed and 19% are studying.
In recent months, the profiles most requested by companies have been in the areas of administration, healthcare, maintenance and mechanical manufacturing.
Ikaslan Bizkaia is made up of 27 public vocational training schools in Bizkaia. Through teachers who are highly trained for their work, the aim is to provide modern and quality teaching that is in line with the needs of the current labor market, while at the same time taking into account the human training of students.
Ikaslan Bizkaia promotes and coordinates actions and projects that enable schools and the Basque public Vocational Training to make progress in the areas of management, training, modernization and innovation. In addition, it establishes links between the schools in its network and the business fabric.
