The II. Talent Fair was held in Donostia (I)

The second edition of the Donostia Talent Fair, organized by the Donostia Promotions and held in the Reale Arena on June 22nd thanks to the cooperation of Real, can be considered a success. edition The 46 companies that participated in it offered more than 160 employment contracts and, in the end, more than 400 interviews were held. Of the 298 people who registered for a job interview before the fair, 51% were women and 52% were under the age of 30.

In addition to the registered people, many people came to the fair without an appointment and finally got an interview. Although many recruitments were closed yesterday, from now on the process of selecting employees will begin and, as a result, future recruitments will be made.

According to Marisol Garmendia, Councilor for Economic Development and Employment, "The Talent Fair has achieved the goal of giving our young people the opportunity to find decent and quality jobs in Donostia. We have an ecosystem of companies with a good job offer, and we are making a special effort to promote such meetings, so that Donostia's talent stays at home".

With this second edition, the Talent Fair becomes an important tool for professional development at the service of young people in Donostia, and also allows local companies to visualize the job opportunities they have for qualified profiles, from technological to more traditional sectors.

This year, engineering and IT were the most requested profiles, although there were also offers for other sectors, such as commerce, marketing and communication, speech therapists or physiotherapy.

"We are the city of science", emphasized Marisol Garmendia, "and, therefore, we must facilitate the work of large companies that look to our city to develop their projects and create new jobs. Meetings like this make it possible to identify and hire the profiles they require".

In addition to creating a meeting between leading companies and people in their sectors, the Fair has served to give lectures on the development of personal skills, such as teamwork, critical thinking or empathy. , because these issues have more and more to do with personal attitude and selection processes.

The Talent Fair is part of Donostia Sustapenak's strategy to help with the first contact with the labor market. This strategy also includes the opportunity for those under 30 to work abroad for 6 months, thanks to the "Global Training" mobility grants. These scholarships were also announced at the fair, and the registration period for a new call is open.

In this work to facilitate the recruitment and retention of local talent, it was recalled at the Fair that there are already on the Donostia Promotion website (www.fomentosansebastian.eus), among other things, a range of financial aid for hiring employees, retaining talent or creating new companies.

Finally, the candidates who did not have the opportunity to approach the Talent Fair have the opportunity to submit their profiles to Donostia Promotion and contact the participating companies.
