Here are the EmprendedorXXI Awards

Entrepreneur XXI Awards XXIV. The edition has already received nominations for innovative projects and initiatives from start-ups, companies and entrepreneurs, with the aim of finding solutions to the main challenges of today's society.
As every year, this year we have a call promoted by CaixaBank through DayOne, with the support of ENISA. In the Basque Autonomous Community, it is promoted by the Basque Government's Department of Economic Development, Sustainability and the Environment through the SPRI Group and its various BICs: the European Business and Innovation Centers, which help to create new companies.

The main goal is to reward talent and the ability to respond to future social challenges, Development will be done with the support of DayOne. DayOne is a service for technology companies and investors that aims to identify the new companies with the greatest growth potential, support them and reward their work.

This time, in addition to rewarding the most potential Basque company, candidates can receive the “Retos EmprendedorXXI” award through projects that can solve a social challenge in the following areas:

  • CiudadXXI: New cities: more sustainable, safe, connected and adapted. Our towns and cities are more sustainable (climate change, green energy, Smart mobility, healthy air), more secure (cyber security, lack of traffic), connected (data, mobility, IoT, Smart buildings), and adapted to mobility. Potential sectors: cleantech, energy, proptech…
  • ViveXXI: Digitalisation, new business models and the recovery of the hotel sector, restaurants, tourism and leisure. Among the sectors that are experiencing the most problems are tourism and hospitality. This category seeks solutions to reactivate the sector, more innovative and sustainable business models, and solutions that can help digitalize the sector. Potential sectors: tourism, hotels, restaurants
  • BienestarXXI: Population Health. Our situation with COIV19 has exposed people’s vulnerability and health risk. This category includes proposals that can help improve health; life science projects to promote active aging, healthier living and disease prevention through proposals related to the so-called “silver economy”. Potential sectors: e-health, life sciences…
  • SemillaXXI: Digital transformation in the food sector. Technological solutions related to agricultural and livestock production, technologies and products for the food industry, food production and processing, etc. This would make more efficient production more sustainable and healthier in agriculture, livestock and the food industry.   • PlanetaXXI: Environmental sustainability, a better planet for future generations. Sustainability to address environmental issues and halt climate change. We are looking for the best solutions to leave a better planet for the new generations. Taking care of our forests and oceans, dealing with plastic waste and alternative materials.   • BancaXXI: A new model of banking that is closer to the customer. Digitization of products and services and innovation is one of the main challenges for the financial sector. Customer specialization is also an important challenge: senior, millennial, tech companies, businesses… In this challenge, we are looking for innovative solutions that can improve the supply of products and services in the financial sector (banking, insurance).
