Global Training Scholarships Available

These scholarships are aimed at young Basque graduates (university studies and higher vocational training) and will offer paid internships for between 6 and 12 months abroad.

These grants are promoted by the Basque Government's Department of Economic Development, Sustainability and the Environment, so that young Basques can acquire skills through practical training obtained in foreign companies and organizations.

Aimed at young people

If you have completed your studies, you should begin to consider what the next step will be in the future. On June 14, the Global Training 2021 scholarship call was launched. It is aimed at young people in the Basque Country who are under 31 years of age and have a University degree or Higher Vocational Training Degree.

The Global Training program allows you to train professionals abroad by doing paid internships in companies or organizations related to your academic specialty.
This project promotes the international mobility of young people in the Basque Country, so that they can improve their training and have a prosperous future.

The Global Training program is managed through partner organizations: Ikaslan; AFM; Novia Salcedo Foundation; UPV / EHU; Development, Fomento de San Sebastián; Basque Chambers; Confebask, Adegi, Txorierri, Hetel; Mondragon University, University of Deusto.

It is estimated that in the near future a significant percentage of all EU jobs will require higher qualifications and skills will be acquired mainly through non-formal education, with particular emphasis on international mobility, volunteering, hands-on learning in real work environments and active youth participation.

That is why the “Global Training” scholarship program was launched in 2012 to find solutions to the future challenges of the open economy, to develop the skills, knowledge, training and mobility of young people in the Basque Country and, in this way, to prepare them for the labor market. This program, aimed specifically at young people with a university degree and higher vocational training, promotes the transnational mobility of young people in the Basque Country to develop activities and projects related to their academic and professional profile in foreign companies and organizations, according to a pre-planned practical training plan.
