It is an all-electric model whose main purpose is to closely mark the products of the major German Premium brands (including the well-known BMW iX3). To do this, it relies on the E-GMP architecture of the Hyundai Motor Group. It is also used by other Asian conglomerate models, such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, although at the time it took on a completely different aesthetic.
It has been said in the past that Genesis has opted for an aesthetic level, the so-called 'Clamshell Hood', a unique piece that includes a hood and front shock absorber and an ultra-aerodynamic front image with a bold design and battery. which ensures that the temperature always moves in the optimum range. Led technology optics also exacerbates this sense of dynamism.
In the mechanical section, the E-GMP platform therefore allows the use of an 800 V architecture and allows the use of power up to 350 kW for ultra-fast charging. In this case, the Genesis GV60 will be paired with a 77.4 kWh battery and can be charged in 18 minutes from 10% to 80% as a maximum recharge.
In terms of engine configurations and power, the access to the GV60 will be marked by a model with a single engine located on the rear axle, with a power of about 226 hp (168 kW), a maximum of 350 Nm and a range of 451 kilometers. There will be two other options with dual-engine and four-wheel drive, the first of which, 314 hp and 605 Nm, gives way to the "Performance" option, which has 429 hp (320 kW).
The high-performance option allows you to reach speeds of 0 to 100 km / h in 4 seconds thanks to a 'Boost' that gives you maximum power in 10 seconds, delivering 483 hp and 700 Nm. For fans of exotic features and technological gadgets, Genesis has a number of surprises in store, including a drift mode that will make it much easier to suggest the background, a camera to recognize the hidden face, and a way to unlock the vehicle without a key. Inside, a fingerprint recognition system will allow us to do the same to get the car up and running.
Genesis, Hyundai's premium brand, has unveiled its first electric car, the first electric car manufactured specifically for the Korean company: a coupe and a premium SUV called the Genesis GV60. It will be the smallest model in the range to try to deal with vehicles like the Tesla Model Y and the Audi Q4 e-tron.
Its starting point is a specific platform for electric E-GMP, the same one used by Hyundai Ioniq 5 and KIA EV6. On an aesthetic level, it is obvious that it is a Genesis, which combines some distinctive elements of the Korean company, such as the ‘Clamshell Hood’, the only piece that includes a hood and a front shock absorber. This is due to the lack of an edge grill, replaced by a lower grill. The headlights, on the other hand, are divided into two thin strips of LEDs that support the 'Two Line' design.
On the back we find a profile that highlights the curved roof line, which gives it the character of a coupe. Clean lines on one side, where the handles are integrated into the bodywork and the rear-view mirrors can be replaced with a high-resolution camera. On the other hand, a chrome line from the wind to column C guides us backwards.
