The first electric bus, articulated in the city of San Sebastián, has begun its service, the Irizar Group, which is the model of the tram. The vehicle is advanced and it will be for 6 months, on the Dbus 28 Amara Hospitals line, within a pilot project, how to work in real-time testing and transporting trips.
The Mayor of San Sebastián, the Managing Director of Dbus, Igor Gonzalez, the Managing Director of the Irizar Group, José Manuel Orcasitas, and the Deputy General Markel Olano, attended the presentation ceremony of the project, confirming its commitment to sustainability and a sustainability commitment. Everyone underlined that projects such as the city and Gipuzkoa are at the forefront of electric mobility.
Characteristics
The Irizar ie tram is a 18-meter bus that does not emit pollutants (0 transmissions) and is silent. It also has innovative design, attractive aerodynamic aesthetics. Inside, the location of the elements makes it easier to walk, since there are more places for the two main parts of the bus and there is more light because windows are larger and have windows on the bottom.
The vehicle has all the conveniences and safety features commonly found in the Dbus fleet, such as a telescopic mid-door access ramp, wheelchairs or two-wheel drive cars, or an indoor bus that provides information on the entertainment or service. The bus has been manufactured with Irizar Group technology and includes other notable innovations:
- It has four gates in front of the three doors with articulated buses. The first door is accessed and the other three come down.
- Replace the bus back mirrors with cameras to see the exterior of the vehicle.
- The bus has more light in the interior, and the seats are arranged in a different way.
- Inner lights have led.
- The broader and brighter bosom of the middle.
- USB ports in all seats.
- It has lithium ion batteries, with high power densities and long life.
At the loading station
The bus is loaded tonight in the Carriages but, nevertheless, it has to make an optional charge throughout the route. This optional load will be carried out at the station of the bus line 28 in Miramón, where the necessary electrical infrastructure has been put in place. When each bus arrives at the end of the Miramón bus stop, the bus will carry an approximate 5-6 minute load. The bus has a pantograph that connects to the roof of the bus and connects it to the load loop to receive a charge of 500 kW.
By starting the bus, it is possible to emit 120 tonnes of CO2 less CO2 per year. At the same time, there will be a further step towards the electrification of the bus fleet in Donostia-San Sebastián, particularly in the total electrification of the 28 line, which is the busiest line of Dbus and the bus line that records the greatest number of passengers per year in the Basque Country.
