Noveto has unveiled its new Noveto N1, which transmits sound directly to your ears without any additional cables or hardware. Also, people who are very close to you will only hear a "whisper".
CES 2022 does not cease to amaze. We’re still half-surprised with a cute cat-shaped robot that bites your finger to relieve stress. However, this time the innovation comes from Noveto, which has introduced its "invisible headphones". The sound breaming system seems to be the future, as this technology represents a world that will allow each user to have their own personal sound bubble; and that’s where Noveto N1 comes in. With the promise of transmitting sound directly to your ears without bothering those around you, the Noveto N1 has defined its experience as "a pair of invisible headphones".
Like a regular speaker, Noveto N1 is an audio device that uses Beamforming technology to distinguish between the spatial properties and ambient noise of a target signal. What does this mean? It basically creates a binaural audio experience without the need for headphones. And the most striking thing is that the audio will only be heard by the user.
According to Noveto, this new compact desktop device gives you a stereo and 3D experience without the need for additional hardware, headphones or cables. It transmits ultrasound silently in the air, which is collected in audible “pockets” outside the ears, creating a similar experience to wearing headphones.
“It’s a magical experience for those around you, too, because they can only hear a whisper and still be able to talk to each other without being isolated by obstructive headphones,” the company explained. Noveto "reduces 90% (20dB) audio reduction to one meter from the user." This means that while listening to music or whatever in 3D, the person next to you can be as relaxed as possible without losing concentration or anything. Of course, the whisper he hears should be explained by Noveto N1 and that he shouldn't go crazy.
Noveto N1 is aimed primarily at those who work in shared spaces, where you are advised to use headphones so as not to disturb others. With this new device, Noveto explains that it can be a good way to reduce noise pollution in offices without forcing employees to put on headphones all day long.
In terms of looks, at the top you have buttons for pairing Bluetooth, volume control, and mute microphone. At the back of the N1 is a USB-C port and a 3.5mm AUX port for connecting a second audio device. In the middle of the Noveto N1, on the front, there is a bright circle of LEDs, called HAL (Heuristic Activity LED), which is lit in interaction with Alexa. It also has Wi-Fi, AirPlay, and a Noveto app, available for iOS and Android.
It is not yet known how much the Noveto N1 will cost, but it is expected to be available in mid-2022.
Noveto was created by friends Tomer Shani and Noam Babayoff of the university with a view to enhancing the audio experience, providing a more natural and immersive way to communicate, and freeing the world from the confines of headphones and speakers.
We are transforming smart living at home and in the office through an innovative intuitive interface and advanced audio technologies that change the way we live and interact with sound through our smart devices.
