Employment and entrepreneurship program in Bizkaia

The pre-registration period for the new edition of the Council's employment shuttle program is underway.

The final selection of participants for the new edition will take place until October 10, which will begin on October 16 and end on February 7, 2025. There will be a maximum of twenty people in each shuttle and they will work for fifteen weeks, or until all members find work; group sessions (face-to-face and online) and individual sessions will also be held, in order to improve the employability of the participants.

SHUTTLE - The shuttle program for employment and entrepreneurship makes it possible to search for work together with other people, as well as to receive the help of an expert technician, who will be responsible for energizing the sessions and will offer continuous support. Joining the program is voluntary and there is no charge; however, a great commitment will be required in terms of participation and attending the organized sessions, unless a job is found.

These are the activities included in the program:

z Group sessions where, among others, the following topics will be addressed:

  • Self-knowledge, personal brand and professional goal.
  •  The functioning of the labor market. Identify the companies operating in the sector in which the job is sought.
  • Resources to look for work and identify opportunities.
  • Curriculum, interview and effective communication.
  • Digital job search tools.

z Individual sessions:

  • Workshops by experts specialized in various topics related to job search.
  • Organizing and participating in forums, business networking and events.
  • Entrepreneurship workshops and practical training for people with business ideas.

Bearing in mind that work is one of the most decisive factors for entering and participating in the social structure, Teresa Laespada, Deputy for Employment, Social Cohesion and Equality and deputy chief deputy, highlighted the following about her department: "The ANEZKA - Employment and entrepreneurship shuttle project launched in 2015 is still valid and its goal is to make the process of entering the labor market more efficient and sustainable".

So far, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia has launched 63 shuttles, thanks to which 1068 people have taken part in the program we are talking about, with the benefits it brings: sharing concerns and experiences with other people in a similar situation, and learning more about the labor market and how it works, as well as also about job search strategies. All this has helped 668 people find work thanks to ANEZKA and this number (62.55%) will increase, as the participants of the last shuttles are fully immersed in the active search for employment, after being in the shuttles that ended in the summer.
