ChatGPT: what it is and what it's for (II)

What is it for?

ChatGPT, whose name comes from Generative Pre-trained Transformer, is developed on top of GPT-3.5, as we mentioned, using supervised learning and reinforcement learning techniques. In both cases, to train and improve the language model, the chatbot trainers have been human.

This training was done using two techniques. The first one, related to supervised learning, provided several conversations in the language model of the chatbot. All were bidirectional, and those responsible for training and coaching ChatGPT played the roles of user and assistant with the artificial intelligence.
To train ChatGPT using reinforcement techniques, the trainers used responses generated by the model from previous conversations. Before doing so, human trainers took it upon themselves to classify them. Once the classifications were established, the so-called 'reward models' were created. With these, the model was further adjusted, in which several iterations of optimization were used, known as close-range policies.

The ChatGPT models were trained on Azure, thanks to the collaboration of its creators, OpenAI, such as Microsoft. The result was a chatbot that, while it can sometimes "hallucinate" and display incorrect information, tries to keep harmful and misleading responses to a minimum. Your responses may also contain links and references to third-party documents.

ChatGPT is state-friendly and remembers previous warnings given in a conversation. To prevent chatbots from responding with offensive responses, they are filtered through a moderation API that rejects potentially sexist or racist messages. Of course, for now their knowledge beyond 2021 is limited, same with some famous people.

How can ChatGPT be used to improve business processes?

Among the many possible use cases for ChatGPT is business process improvement. Of course, it can't be used for that, as it's on its creators page. So you can only do very basic tasks. Such as creating summaries, answering generic language-related questions or translating texts. As part of the improvement of business processes, it is able to optimize the creation of the company's own texts. From texts for marketing campaigns to content for your website. All this based on some indications, of course.

To improve other processes it is necessary to create custom developments in many cases using the ChatGPT API. In this way, with artificial intelligence, various solutions can be created to optimize tailor-made processes.
