The project for Commercial Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Basque Country is back, led by the Department of Tourism and Commerce of the Basque Government and the Faculty of Business Studies at Mondragon Unibertsitatea. The projects of the students of the LEINN (Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation) degree try to respond to real challenges such as empty premises or the closure of businesses.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism and Trade, Jakes Aguirrezabal Iribar, the Director of Trade, Izaskun Gómez Cermeño, and the Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies at Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Lander Beloki, launched this Thursday at the Faculty's Oñati campus the 2nd edition of the MARKET BERRI Programme, aimed at promoting the competitiveness and projection of Basque businesses.
During the event, the panorama of the commercial sector was addressed in a round table with merchants, moderated by the Director of Trade of the Basque Government.
In this second edition of the project for Commercial Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Basque Country, the nine selected projects of this year presented by students of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of the LEINN Degree (Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation) of the laboratories of Oñati, Irún and Bilbao were announced.
These projects have been selected by traders and sector agents from among almost twenty proposals submitted. All of them reflect a variety of innovative approaches to commerce and try to respond to the real challenges that the sector faces, such as the closure of shops, empty premises or towns with little commercial activity, among others.
This event reaffirmed the importance of commerce in the transformation of today's society and the need to adapt to the new realities of the market.
