YOUTH INFORMATION CORRESPONDENCE PROGRAM, NAVARRE

October 4th is the deadline for educational centers, colleges, or student residences to register as 'collaborating spaces'.

Pamplona City Council has once again announced the competition for the launch of information correspondents in youth spaces in Pamplona. The registration period for educational centers, colleges, student residences, and other spaces to acquire the status of 'collaborating spaces' opens until October 4th. Once this status has been obtained, each space must select the pair of young people who will perform the duties of the correspondent before October 18th.

This program, launched almost three decades ago, consists of two young people linked to the 'collaborating space' being in charge of bringing information of interest to the youth of their respective spaces, with the coordination and supervision of the Municipal Youth Information Office of the Casa de la Juventud. The dissemination of information is carried out by updating an information panel, personal attention in the different spaces, the management of a virtual information space and other dissemination measures.

The status of 'collaborating space' for the 2024 - 2025 academic year can be achieved by sending a request to the email address corresponsales@casajuventud.com. October 4 is the deadline to register. The Pamplona City Council has established a maximum number of 60 collaborating spaces for this course. Information about this program can be found at www.pamplona.es, at www.pamplonajoven.es and in the Official Gazette of Navarra number 191 of September 19.

Collaborating spaces and news correspondents

The following may participate in the news correspondent programme: educational centres with students aged between 14 and 30; colleges and student residences whose majority population is young people aged between 14 and 30; youth spaces, understood as places where programmes run by the municipality or any other administration related to youth are carried out; and premises of officially established youth associations. The spaces eligible to participate in the programme must be located within the municipality of Pamplona.

Once the status of ‘collaborating space’ has been confirmed by Pamplona City Council, the youth spaces themselves will pre-select the pair of correspondents who will carry out the programme. Before 18 October, these spaces will inform Pamplona City Council of the details of the pre-selected pair. Pamplona City Council will proceed to the final selection, which it will communicate to the collaborating spaces. The pre-selection of those who make up the correspondent pair will be carried out through a process in which aspects such as the correspondent project proposed by each team, their personal and social skills, as well as other parameters that each collaborating space considers appropriate will be assessed.

The people in charge of the selected correspondents will go weekly to the Municipal Youth Information Office of the Youth House to carry out the technical monitoring of their work as youth informants. They will receive training and advice from the technical team in charge of the development of the program and will be responsible for the management and dissemination of information through different media, including a physical panel located in the collaborating spaces themselves and other virtual media, such as web pages or social media accounts.

The couples selected by the collaborating spaces undertake to start up their youth information correspondent project and maintain it in accordance with what is proposed in the project prepared for each space; to maintain the activity of the information point in the space in which they carry out their work from the first week of November 2024 until May 31, 2025; and to submit to any of the verification actions by the technical team of the Youth House.

The couples that carry out their work throughout the school year will be eligible for a public call in which the economic prizes to be received for the development of this task will be established.
