Xiaomi is about to upgrade to the Galaxy Z Fold 3

Folding phones have no push back and different manufacturers have their own proposals. Samsung is one of the companies that has made a strong commitment to this device format; but he is not the only one.

It is true that Samsung devices can already be found in stores, which facilitates user acceptance. But other companies like Xiaomi are not far behind when it comes to implementing innovations.

We were able to see earlier this year that Xiaomi had its own terminal called Mi Mix Fold. This device came in the same format as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G and is therefore the main rival in the industry.
What has happened is that Xiaomi seems to have realized that Samsung's recently folding device has features that make it more attractive to the public, so it would prepare a counterpart.

The move that Xiaomi would give would be to launch a small upgrade of Mi Mix Fold. The upgrade, in principle, would not come as a Mi Mix Fold 2, but would be a configuration to suit the tasks when competing.

In fact, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold 2 is technically superior. The internal display is 8.01 inches with a resolution of 2,480 x 1,860 with HDR10 + compatibility on the folding AMOLED panel.

The interior of the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 with 12 GB or 16 GB RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB storage. The battery of the device would be 5,020 mAh with a fast charge of 67W.
All that is leaked is that the battery would be reduced to 5,000 mAh, but the fast charge would increase to 120W. Also, the screen refresh rate would be 120Hz instead of 90Hz and the camera would be hidden under the front panel.

At the performance level we are in front of a whole team, it will be weird to see the upgrade yet without the new Qualcomm processor. Actually, it will be a surprise that Xiaomi launches.

The new Xiaomi MIX Fold is on its way

Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold was launched in March this year as the first phone with a folding screen. The device revived the brand’s iconic MIX line after years of waiting to welcome the impressive Xiaomi MIX 4 flagship phone in a more traditional format. Earlier, reports suggested that this year we would have more than one MIX folding phone. It looks like the new MIX Fold is on its way.

New Mi MIX Fold Folder

In May, reports began that Xiaomi was working on a new version of Mi MIX Fold. Later in June, a new Xiaomi mobile device identified by model number 21081018SC was detected in the IMEI database. According to China's trusted digital leaker chat station, this model is part of Xiaomi's flagship new device.

So considering that the “traditional” MIX phone is relatively new, it all indicates that the new terminal will be Xiaomi’s next mobile with a folding screen. In the past, reports have told us that we will have different variants in the MIX Fold family, as well as different formats. One of the models would be a folding mobile phone, similar to the Galaxy Z Flip series.
So, given that Samsung has just launched its Galaxy Z Flip3, it would make sense for Xiaomi to seek to launch its alternative in the MIX Fold format in direct competition, trying to capture a percentage of its market share.
