The analysis of 80 indicators analyzes the economy of 130 countries and lists them annually. The list is made up by the United Nations Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Cornell University's Sc Johnson Business College and INSEAD graduate business schools. Indicators take into account many things, such as money spent on research, patent applications, mobile applications, etc.
In 2018, the United States dropped to 6th position and this year is back to first place. This year, for the first time, Israel has entered the top 10.
Now established as a "world leader in innovation", China is a prominent place in patents, industrial designs and originally registered markets, as well as in exports of creative and high-tech products.
Steps ahead of India are also very important and are increasing their positions every year. The best-ranked towns in 2019 were Niger, Burundi and Yemen.
