Christian Marion is the head of 'Famileo' in Spain. This app transforms Whatsapp conversations into paper magazines to make them accessible to seniors.
Marion has just arrived from French Brittany, which is where the founders of Famileo work. This application is currently used by more than 50,000 European families and allows a digital chat (such as a Whatsapp or Telegram conversation) to be converted into a printed magazine. This magazine is then sent to seniors who are not accustomed to new technologies.
“I was committed to my family because of the social and real side of the project. The goal is not to make investment rounds. We offer a sustainable service that is in line with my values, ”explains Christian Marion, who runs the Famileo in Spain.
With a French father - his grandfather lived in Madrid as a Citroën director - Marion was born in Barcelona 41 years ago, but has spent seasons in Madrid, Paris, Liege and Silicon Valley. In the Catalan capital, he has also worked as an entrepreneurial consultant at the French Chamber of Commerce in Barcelona and as director of French Tech Barcelona, a Franco-French technological community that brings together entrepreneurs, senior executives and investors. For the director of the family, Europe has a great opportunity to “differentiate itself in the responsible use of technology.” Specifically, “France has become a spokesperson for‘ tech for good ’, with a large market and also access to finance”.
Marion cites examples such as the Qwant initiative, a European Google with a vocation for “respect for privacy.” Another trend is the “return to form”, with examples such as Cheerz -photo printing online-, the rise of Polaroids or, in Spain, initiatives such as MiCuento, which personalizes stories to empower children by transmitting values.
“Like his family, MiCuento is also of intergenerational interest, as his grandparents get into the story,” he celebrates. Purpose: old people's homes. Marion announces that her next goal is to introduce Famileo to people who support the elderly, as they can use the application as a means of communication between families and adults in more than 5,000 geriatrics in Spain, as is already the case in other European countries.
"The Spanish Family team is visiting nursing homes to offer the application, which is one of the most innovative innovations we have just presented at the Addiction and Health Congress held in the Ifema area of Madrid," he explains.
