While it was thought that singers were far from being threatened by the rise of artificial intelligence, we have bad news, because Warner Music has just signed a record deal with an AI.
We are talking about the digital singer Noonoouri, who released her first debut single called Dominoes on September 1, and curiously it is being a success. Specifically, the creator of Noonoouri has signed a record contract with Warner Music Central Europe to release some musical tracks, like the one you can see in the video.
It is an avatar with big eyes, a small nose, and colorful hair with extravagant clothing and has a pretty catchy voice for music of these characteristics.
Her creators used artificial intelligence to create the voice, a voice previously based on a real singer, but modified to give her a unique voice.
Of course, all the royalties produced by this AI will be distributed among the singers and musicians who have participated in these songs.
This catchy song that has more than 50,000 views on YouTube features the participation of German DJ and producer Alle Farben.
This is not a new avatar, as her first appearance was in 2018 at New York Fashion Week and she has already worked with major fashion brands.
But her main supporter is the German artist Joerg Zuber, who created Noonoouri years ago, and who has been able to exploit her work very well, lending it to a multitude of projects.
These types of digital models seem to be generating as much money as real artists, who usually sign much larger contracts. This means that if the invention worked, many artists could lose their jobs if record labels end up preferring to invest money in this type of virtual avatars.
