We’ve just started spring, set summer time, and Google Photos wanted to release a lot of new features to make the application experience much more comfortable and productive. And it has done so mainly through the new features that affect the organization of our photo collection. What will happen when we upload them to Google Clowd and store them on our device. They show us a different and simpler way to sort all the visual material we are accumulating on a visual or computer level.
One of the most interesting news is the organization of various albums stored in Google Photos; in fact, the latest version of the app has added a new button where we can choose different ways to display albums. Now these can be viewed not only on a grid, but also as a list, or sorted alphabetically, in a simple way. There we can select shared albums, favorites or folders and sort them conveniently within them. Basically we have a lot more powerful and useful filters available now.
If photos and albums are not found in Google Photos, we can also choose to organize them better. Now below the album network, we can see a new section for importing photos. This will make it much easier to add photos that are not in our collection. This new button appears at the bottom of the screen, below the entire photo library. And so it's the perfect tool to store everything you can import from other devices or back up to Google Photos, even if it's done manually. So it’s a new helper we’ll find within this library menu.
Another important improvement is found in the sharing tab, which now has a completely different design, and above all, shows all the elements in a much more orderly way. Now that everything is on a list, you can see the different albums in this new look with a different look. Google Photos is also launching a new shortcut to view the latest screenshots saved on our phone.
This means that if we have recently taken one or more screenshots, when we browse the first photos tab we will see that direct access below the memory with the last screenshots. In this way, we ensure that we do not lose sight of them or forget about them, so that we can decide whether or not to save them before burying them. Finally, Google has announced a new carousel of contextual suggestions, which allows us to copy text, crop photos, or search with Google Lens from a screenshot.
Google Photos no longer allows us to save all the photos and videos we want for free for a long time. However, many users prefer to use the Google Account repository to back up their files.
Until now, users had to choose when to back up their photos when they were connected via WiFi or, conversely, when they were connected to the Internet via mobile data.
In addition to these options, the service allows the user to decide whether or not to back up videos, which are the largest files in the gallery.
However, the company has redesigned the service settings to allow the user to select the amount of data to backup.
To set a limit, you need to know the amount of mobile data you have contracted with your rate, as there are currently unlimited rates, as there are many users who do not need to set a limit, although this new limit is more inconvenient.
Google has updated one of the best apps on the market with a clear goal: to make users much more organized with their images and videos. And the truth is that this is a very good idea, because almost everyone has this real chaos.
Google Photos is arguably one of the most sought-after developments in Mountain View because of its excellent deployment on user phones (both in terms of options and number). By the way, it’s important to mention that all news comes from both the Android version and the one that works with iOS devices, such as the iPhone.
