More than 5,000 professionals will be needed to meet the high demand for profiles required by the summer campaign, according to the Adecco Aquí Ahora Campaña de verano initiative promoted by the Adecco Group.
"The summer months offer new job opportunities to young people who want to enter the labor market for the first time, to those who take advantage of these months to obtain income for the rest of the year, and also to the unemployed who see an opportunity to get out of unemployment," explained the human resources consultancy in a statement.
The job vacancies created at this time of the year are mainly concentrated in 5 sectors:
- Hospitality and Tourism.
- Contact Center (remote customer and company care service).
- Logistics.
- Retail (retail sale).
- Last mile or Last mile (area focused on the last link of package delivery).
"These are sectors where it is always difficult to find the right talent and the shortage of profiles increases during campaigns like the summer," he claims.

1. Servers
Servers prepare tables, serve diners, take orders, and serve food and drinks in an establishment.
They are the professionals most in demand in the hospitality and tourism sector, according to the Estado del mercado laboral en España 2023 report by InfoJobs and Esad.
For these seasonal positions, companies are looking for professionals "with experience in the classroom", Adecco explained. Even if what you want is the necessary training to be considered a professional in this profession, you can complete the intermediate training cycle in Culinary Services (CFGM).
With an average annual salary of 22,724 euros, waiters are the most sought-after professionals in the sector.
1 in 10 job offers published on the InfoJobs job portal in Spain is for professionals in the hospitality, tourism and restaurant sector, according to the State of the Labor Market in Spain 2023 report by InfoJobs and Esade.
With 229,819 job vacancies registered in 2023, this sector is the fifth with the largest volume of job vacancies, behind Trade and sales (429,287), Purchasing, logistics and warehousing (267,103), Customer service (266,114) and Professions, arts and crafts (244,584).
2. Cooks
Prepare dishes requested by diners following recipes and applying cooking techniques. He is also responsible for maintaining order and cleanliness in his work area.
If you want to train to be a chef, you can do the CFGM in Cooking and Gastronomy, as well as the advanced training course in Kitchen Management (CFGS).
3. Apartments servants
They clean hotel and apartment rooms. They make beds, vacuum floors, disinfect toilets and replenish supplies such as soap and towels, among others.
"For this position, candidates will be assessed for their proactive attitude, customer orientation, responsibility and teamwork skills," added Adecco.
To train to become a domestic worker, you can study for a Basic Vocational Training in Lodging and Laundry or a Certificate of Professionalism in Basic Apartment and Lodging Operations.
4. Delivery men or women
They move goods from one point to another. They must plan the route, manage the delivery notes and ensure that the products reach the recipient in good condition.
"We need dynamic professionals who enjoy driving any type of vehicle, have a flexible schedule and experience in delivery positions," says Adecco.
It will allow you to become a professional person to deliver the Trade Support Activities Professional Certificate.
5. Warehouse worker
Assists in loading and unloading trucks, tracking orders and warehousing.
You can train as a warehouse worker with the Certificate of Professionalism in Warehouse Support Activities and Transport and Logistics, and Sales and Commercial Space Management with the CFGS.
"Applying for these jobs in the logistics sector requires a proactive attitude, the ability to work independently or collaboratively, responsibility and knowledge of handling loads and forklifts," says Adecco.
6. Telephone sales agents
They sell items or services to businesses and individuals over the phone. They also answer customer calls and handle complaints and incidents.
"Jobs in the Contact Center sector require result-oriented employees with communication, organizational and problem-solving skills," explains Adecco.
If you want to become a telemarketing agent, you can take CFGM in Commercial Activities, as well as courses related to sales management, telemarketing and teleoperators.
7. Shopkeepers
They work in shops and supermarkets. They are responsible for finding, fulfilling, and collecting payment for the items customers order.
To fill sales vacancies, "we need dynamic, enthusiastic people with a positive attitude and people-ness," explained Adecco.
8. Promoters of sales points
They hold product demonstrations in shops, private homes or fairs, showrooms, with the aim of getting customers to buy the items they promote.
The position requires "commercial skills, a willingness to learn and people who enjoy working in a team," says Adecco.
Hospitality, 50% of job vacancies require only basic education. The profile of the job vacancies published by Infojobs through 2023 shows that "qualifications remain an undervalued sector", the report says.
50% of the jobs offered required only basic education, 19% a Vocational Education (VET) degree, 5% a High School diploma and 3% a university degree.
However, the job offers required experience in the sector: 6 out of 10 rated the candidates as having between 1 and 2 years of experience.
