The world's first Artificial Intelligence hospital

China inaugurates the world's first Artificial Intelligence hospital: it can treat 3,000 patients a day.

They are capable of diagnosing diseases and developing treatment plans with an accuracy of 93.06%. It is capable of caring for the same number of people in a few days as a normal hospital takes in years.

China has just inaugurated the world's first hospital powered entirely by Artificial Intelligence, called Agent Hospital, a virtual clinic that uses AI-generated doctors and nurses to treat patients in a simulated environment.

The rise of AI has meant that little by little that futuristic world that we thought was still many years away is here. And without a doubt the idea of a hospital in which doctors and nurses are not people is one of these avant-garde ideas that no one thought would arrive in 2024.

China has stepped on the accelerator when it comes to the development of AI, and driven by researchers from Tsinghua University in Beijing (China), the Agent Hospital has been created and inaugurated.

This will be a virtual hospital to which patients will be able to "go" through a simulated environment and will be cared for by an AI capable of simulating and predicting medical scenarios, such as outbreaks that could end up being a pandemic, in addition to diagnosing diseases and developing emergency plans. treatment with an incredible accuracy of 93.06%, according to questions on the US medical licensing exam.

Although the staff of this hospital is only 14 doctors and 4 nurses, all powered by AI, researchers say that the hospital can care for about 3,000 patients a day and up to 10,000 people in a matter of a few days. To put it in context, it would take a normal hospital up to two years to care for that many patients.

Although we may be quite skeptical about this idea right now, it is clear that for the moment it is not going to replace a real hospital, with doctors and nurses. However, this innovation is beneficial and efficient in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, because they detect them earlier by requiring less time with each patient.

As an educational resource, it is perfect for medical students, since they will be able to propose risk-free treatments to these virtual patients. Apparently, this hospital is so advanced that its creators assure that it will be fully operational by the second half of the year.
