Is it already in use?
We are using it as a pilot test in two residences. We won the BerriUp call, the start-up accelerator, together with Rural Kutxa and Adinberri. Rural Kutxa has several headquarters in Navarre, belonging to the Solera Group, and here we have a room with the system installed, and we have another one in Uztur, in Tolosa, which is the client who asked us for a solution with video surveillance. When we told him we had radars, he was happy to try them.
If someone wanted to use it in residences, it would already be available, but for the home, a consultation is coming out in the Adinberri market to make paid pilots in Gipuzkoa, and what we want is to try to get into that proposal. The development of houses is much more delicate and complex than a residence. In the residences, we can start installing and operating, but as for the house, we hope to have something more marketable by the middle of the year.
The residence is a very controlled environment because they have a maintenance worker at all times. It is a company and it is easier to monitor that it works well. Everything is easier than at home. In a house, everything has to be done very well, because if there are any faults for any reason, they will immediately throw away your product. The plan is to make an application for the relative, to be able to warn when there is a problem at the grandmother's or the lady's house. It has to work much finer than in a residence.
What are the most common problems associated with the elderly?
On the one hand, there is a problem in the residences, I don't know what it's called, economic or what kind of problem, that they need attention and sometimes they are not able to provide attention that goes beyond that. And care and the elderly must be more humane; that is not a business.
And then, those who stay at home alone and do not want to go to the residences also have all the rights and are often much better off, they are denied the tools that calm everyone around them and if there is an incident, the reaction is very fast and they are better taken care of. And the good thing about this system is that the elderly do not have to use it, it is placed in the room. You don't have to put a button or anything, you're seen in a non-intrusive way and the person who cares is alerted if there's a problem, which is good.
What problems does Ingevital solve?
On the one hand, people can stay calm at home for a longer time, something that usually happens here in Gipuzkoa, trying to go to the residences as late as possible, because usually people are better at home. And that in the residences, incidents that will occur are taken care of as quickly as possible, and that certain things can be avoided, such as falls or problems at night, that is, when the residences have less staff to take care of everyone, and there is no need to make cuts... humanize, above all, the care , that is what should be valued.
