Technology has emerged as a solution for more than half of the Spanish population, that is, for towns with less than 1,000 inhabitants today. The population of these regions is very low, on the same level as Lapland and Norway.
Moving along this line is the # MoverEspaña program, an initiative launched by HP to bring technology and innovation to these regions with other multinationals.
Among the actions prepared for this program is "La España Vacía" at the Hackathona, Castile and Leon Museum of Contemporary Art (MUSAC), which will be held on November 9 and 10.
The start of #MoverEspaña will begin in the week of November 4 in the city of León, with a machine event: Presentation of a research carried out by the R&D Foundation on Empty Spain, among them. In addition, there will be programming training sessions for teachers in rural schools, provided by HP experts. There will also be training for mayors in these countries on cutting-edge topics such as Artificial Intelligence to blockchain.
The "Empty Spain" Hackathon
The week of the #MoverEspaña program includes, on November 9 and 10, the celebration of the "La España Vacía" Hackathon, at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Castile and Leon (MUSAC), where more than 80 application developers will meet, give ideas and create solutions and projects, to create opportunities and services in empty countries.
It will last for 26 hours and participants will constantly try to make their ideas a reality. The winning projects will be awarded as an award, in addition to major financial awards, mentoring the multinationals participating in the # MoverEspaña program for one year.
Talent, work and collaboration
The initiative is also supported by the Seres Foundation, in collaboration with the Cotec Foundation, which will be able to submit these projects to the International Congress of Mayors and Innovation. It is worth noting that anyone wishing to participate must register on the form already available on www.hpdscds.com, as the places are sold out.
“With this program, we want to combine innovation and new technologies to help us find practices and solutions in situations that concern us all, as the case of 'España Vacía'; we believe that this is possible when you combine the best talent, work and collaboration of leading companies, ”said Miguel Ángel Turrado, General Manager of HP SCDS, in the presentation of the initiative.
