The turn of the smart plugs (I)

Undoubtedly, it is the most sophisticated plug on the market that we present to you now. In fact, it uses the same technology as our mobile phone cameras to know exactly how much water is left in the bottle and therefore reminds us to drink more to avoid dehydration.

Smart devices are already common in our daily lives. We're not just talking about home gadgets (light bulbs, speakers or robot vacuum cleaners). Besides these, there are others, and few of us would have thought that they could be used as smart. This is the case of the product we are looking at today, which we definitely find very surprising. It's a smart plug; yes, you read that right, and it is able to encourage you to stick to healthy and sustainable fluid intake habits. We're talking about the Lucy Smart Cap, one of the most amazing devices we've ever seen.

A cap that knows how much water is in the bottle

The basic principle is that a device that follows our habits when it comes to drinking water works effectively. In fact, we know many applications and wearables that help us consume the water we need every day. But they all have one big flaw, which is that the mouthpieces have to be inserted manually, so the data obtained is often unreliable, because we surely forget to add a mouthpiece, or the complete opposite.

In this case, this is easily solved, because this cap called Lucy only has a ToF sensor, yes, like the ones in smartphone cameras, which measures the depth and distance of an object to know exactly how much water is in the bottle. Both the cap and the bottle are supplied, so that the water measurements are always accurate. Therefore, if you always drink water from this bottle, Lucy will get a real reading of your consumption. And of course, the wireless connection of this plug could not be missing to synchronize with our mobile through the waterdrop application.

With it we can keep track of all the water we have drunk, or are drinking, because we can see the data in real time from the application. Therefore, if we follow the water drop signs to the letter, they will show us notifications when we need to drink water, we will not have hydration problems.
