STARTinnova has started the engines again. This program, created and promoted by EL DIARIO VASCO, supported by Adegi, BIC Gipuzkoa and the Department of Education of the Basque Government and with the support of UPV/EHU, Tknika and local companies, will train almost 900 students from 31 Gipuzkoa High School and Vocational Education centers to develop an entrepreneurial attitude towards life. . Six of these centers have participated in STARTinnova in this edition of the 2022/2023 academic year: Meka, Elgoibarkoa; Hondarribia's Mother of Guadalupe; IES Pio Baroja BHI, Irungo; IES Oriarte BHI, from Lasarte-Oria; and Jakintza Ikastola and Goierri School, both from Ordizia.

Another 3,310 must be added to the participants from Gipuzkoa, from the Vocational Education and High School centers of Araba, Bizkaia, Asturias, Castile and Leon and Valencia.

What it is: EL DIARIO is an educational program sponsored by VASCO. It wants to help educational centers to promote an entrepreneurial spirit among young people, supported by ADEGI, BIC Gipuzkoa and the Department of Education of the Basque Government. UPV/EHU and Tknika collaborate. The mentoring companies are: Grupo Wisco, Irizar, KSB, Michelin Fundación, Sarralle, Unceta.

The program, which will last for five months, is in its eleventh edition, keeping intact the objectives of its creation: to help educational centers to promote an entrepreneurial spirit among young people and to help them develop the skills and abilities that will help them identify an idea and, through the Canvas model, turn it into a real project.

In the coming months, and under the tutelage of a teacher from their center, the participating students - mostly 16 and 17-year-old students - will form groups to work on their projects and put into practice some indirect skills, such as autonomy, creativity, initiative and reflection, among others. All these values, together with self-confidence or decision-making in dangerous environments, will help them face the challenges of the future when they enter the labor market.

The training proposal is completed by meetings with entrepreneurs and visits to business mentors, where young people will have the opportunity to learn about how companies work.
