This screenless laptop promises to make spatial computing a reality with its augmented reality glasses.
Sightful, a company founded by former Magic Leap employees, has just presented a rather curious product: a laptop with augmented reality glasses designed for 'spatial computing'.
One of the most notable aspects of this proposal is the possibility of working in huge workspaces from anywhere. Its creators say that we will be able to enjoy a virtual screen of up to 100 inches instead of limiting ourselves to the inches that traditional laptops can offer us, for example, 13 inches.
Spacetop G1 Features:
AUGMENTED REALITY GLASSES
A laptop without a screen that is committed to spatial computing.
Sightful is not the first company to talk about spatial computing. This term has been circulating for years, although it has taken on greater prominence since the launch of the Apple Vision Pro.
This device, by not having a screen, prevents anyone else in the room from seeing what we are doing. As we can see in the images, the glasses are stored where the screen should be on a traditional laptop. On the back we find a keyboard and a trackpad.
Services and applications that work on SpaceOS:
In place of the screen are augmented reality glasses that equip two OLED panels. These offer a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels per eye and a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz. The diagonal field of view is 50° and 44 PPD (pixels per degree). It also allows for custom prescription lenses.
We also have a 60 Wh battery, two USB-C ports (10 Gb/s), WiFi 7 connectivity, Bluetooth 5.3, 5G (Nano-SIM card slot or eSIM). The Spacetop G1 is also prepared for video conferencing, so it integrates two speakers (6 W stereo), a microphone and a 5 MP webcam (2592 x 1944 pixels).
