The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology, FECYT, is launching the third edition of "Solo de Ciencia", an Ibero-American competition for scientific monologues whose objective is to promote the communication of science in Spanish, encouraging those who develop their studies or their professional career in the field of science and technology to actively involve themselves in dissemination in settings usually far from this type of initiatives.
This competition is designed to inspire and motivate those who are dedicated to science and technology to actively participate in the dissemination of their areas of work through scientific monologues, in direct contact with the public.
Any person of Spanish nationality or resident in Spain and of legal age, who is studying or currently carrying out any professional or work activity in areas related to the field of science or technology, including pre-university teaching specialized in science, and who meets the requirements established in these rules, may participate in "Solo de Ciencia". The deadline for submitting applications is now open and will end on February 12, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. (Spanish peninsular time).
Participation in "Solo de Ciencia" España will be channeled through the recording of a video in which each participant must perform a monologue in Spanish based on a scientific or technological topic, with a maximum duration of 3 minutes.
Applications will be submitted through a participation form available on the contest website www.solodeciencia.es ach participant must complete the information requested in said form in Spanish, and attach the audiovisual material (video) that is submitted to the contest to the web participation system, in accordance with the requirements established in the second section of the rules.
