Smart mirror with personal trainer

Our daily goals are increasingly connected to the Internet. Some things may be more useful and others less so, such as a bluetooth pitcher for listening to music. The last striking thing on the market is the smart mirror that comes with a personal trainer. We will explain what it does.

This mirror called a mirror is a mixture of a mirror and an LCD screen, where your reflection will be mixed with what the screen emits. The device will detect what exercise you are doing, in real time and in front of you. It will let you know if you are doing right or wrong. In addition, you can connect with other people so you can do sports together or have a personal trainer check to see if you’re doing everything right. As a result, we need to be careful about protecting our privacy, as it can be dangerous to show ourselves in front of other people through the mirror.

The camera has a resolution of 720p, has bluetooth and WiFi connection so that we can send our data to other devices such as our mobile phone. An app for both iOS and Android is available to access all data. We can connect the heart rate sensors to the mirror to track our data.

Mirror allows you to hire a personal trainer in real time, ranging from $ 40 to $ 75 per session. They’re not cheap classes, but it’s an option for anyone who wants it. You can have a private and personalized workout with your camera, microphone and speakerphone. In addition to being able to train with a professional, you can also get in touch with other people who are doing the same exercises.

Thanks to its speakerphone, you can listen to music via bluetooth while you exercise. You can buy a variety of accessories on its official website, both to take biometric data and to keep the mirror itself. On the net you can see the data and information of each teacher. You will have more than 70 live classes per week and a 24-hour library.

This concept is very interesting, but it costs $ 1,495. This price, plus the cost of each private class, is available to a very small audience. We don’t know if this mirror will be successful, but it’s a very interesting concept. It’s even cheaper to go to the gym or go for a run.

Train at home

Training at home can be a good alternative if you don’t really like gyms or if you prefer to practice at home privacy. Of course, there are a couple of things you’re sure to miss: on the one hand, the sheer number of mirrors you have in the gym, and on the other hand, being able to follow workouts similar to the group classes you can do at the gym.

To cover these two needs so that you can train in your home in a more complete way, Mirror has arrived: an interactive mirror where different workouts from different disciplines are projected and at the same time allow us to reflect on improving our technique, as we would in a traditional gym .
Mirror works through an application that we can choose from a number of weekly workouts: Yoga to boxing, strength training, cardio, Pilates ...

Once we have selected the class we want to do, it will start projecting in the mirror along with other data from the exercise session, such as the calories we are burning or our heartbeat at all times (for this we will need to connect the heart rate sensor via bluetooth).

Mirror changes the demands of the classes according to our physical abilities, so that the hardness of the exercises can change in real time. It also has speakers so you can listen to the instructions at any time.
