No more tow trucks in China: this is the valet robot that parks poorly parked cars

The Chinese population exceeds 1.4 billion inhabitants, it is the most populated country in the world, and if you find it difficult to park near your house, imagine what this task is like in the Asian country.

Cars have taken over the cities and while the number of vehicles increases constantly, the number of parking spaces remains the same.

This situation has led Chinese drivers to be forced to park their cars in the wrong way and however they can, because there is not a single free space left. In the city of Wuxi (in eastern China and near Shanghai) this was already a serious problem and the situation was almost unsustainable, and that is why they have decided to turn to robots to solve the situation.

It is no secret that in China they are very futuristic with the technology they develop, and the case of the "valet parking robot" developed by the company Shenzhen Shanyi Technologies is the latest example of this.

This company has designed a robot that works like a mix between a parking valet and a tow truck. This is because this autonomous robot is capable of moving poorly parked cars and taking them to a legal parking spot, without the need for external help or anything similar.

The robot, which is powered by Artificial Intelligence and advanced automation, uses multiple sensors in addition to an external central unit to move without complications and know where it has to go and where it has to transport the poorly parked vehicle.

As the company claims, this robot is designed to work in both public and private spaces and can move cars within parking lots, buildings, take it from the street to a covered parking lot and even provide its services to firefighters and the police.

At the moment, the authorities are using it to repark cars improperly parked on the street in legal places, instead of resorting to using a tow truck and taking the car away, but it would not be surprising that when their use expands, these robots. They take the car directly to the depot and to get it back the users will have to pay a fine.
