The European directive that already requires SMEs to implement cybersecurity measures.
The Basque technology company Cybertix has developed an automatic and easy-to-apply tool to comply with the requirements of this directive.
Accepting the areas for improvement that the Basque business sector, especially SMEs, presents in an area such as cybersecurity is accepting that due to their structure they are the most vulnerable companies when it comes to being attacked and accepting that since their economic resources are not infinite, they are poorly equipped to implement security systems on a daily basis. In this context, Europe is determined to act and reverse this situation, for which it has just drafted a mandatory European directive that will come into force shortly. With what objective? That all companies introduce measures in the area of cybersecurity. To respond to the questions arising from this new reality, the Basque technology company Cybertix, chaired by Xabier Michelena and directed by Lorenzo Díaz de Apodaca, has just developed a tool that helps and simplifies all the casuistry that Basque SMEs are currently facing.
The European directive is called NIS2 and was published in December 2022 but came into force in January 2023 and the transposition, in this case into Spanish legislation, was scheduled for October 17, so we are on time because the implementation will not be immediate and it is a good time for companies to start taking action.
