Neuralink implant

The company carried out the surgical intervention in the last hours. The patient "is recovering well," according to the businessman.

It's been almost three years since Elon Musk showed the world a monkey playing Pong. It was the first public demonstration of Neuralink, a project that seeks to create a brain interface that helps people address certain disabilities, but also "unlock the human potential of tomorrow."

The first person with Neuralink through a publication on X, Musk announced this Tuesday that Neuralink has made its first human implant. There are not too many details, but it is known that the procedure was performed yesterday and that the patient "is recovering well" and that "the initial results show promising detection of neuronal spikes."

This milestone for the company founded by Elon Musk in 2016 and directed by Jared Birchall comes after the approval (United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA)). It should be noted that this federal body rejected the company's first request, made to early 2022, but gave the go-ahead in May of last year.

Elon Musk wants to implant Neuralink in humans in six months: it is a fairly ambitious goal.
