Nest Audio, Google's new speaker

U.S. multinational Google has revamped its speaker catalog with a minimalist Nest Audio proposal. Compared to the same firm’s background, the device offers a better sound, but it should be improved in the face of its opponents.

The market for smart speakers is very mixed. Two brands dominate, however: Google and Amazon. Both manufacturers have thrown the house out the window over the past three years, expanding their inventory with a variety of proposals. Their goal is to fill the house with these appliances. The excuse is audio; but what really matters is the “mind” behind it. But there are exceptions.

Nest Audio is one of Google’s newest audio devices. Definitely the best in terms of quality in its entire catalog. There is no doubt about that. With an elegant and minimalist design, the device is compact and small in size. It’s smaller than Apple’s opponent, the HomePod. The aesthetic is rectangular and, why not say it, it’s also pretty: it blends well with your living room or bedroom furniture.

That’s where the best of success lies, especially if it’s the white version. It gives a special touch to the decor. It’s not tuned in, and that’s important because technology has to have a vocation to be “invisible” in order to function. It goes completely unnoticed and is there when needed.

Sounds better than before

However, it doesn’t stop you from having a speakerphone. In this mission he accomplishes more than his goal. Goes beyond the original Google Home. The jump is pretty big. The audio quality is good compared to other brand proposals. However, he is below other opponents. The medium frequency works well and provides clarity and clarity in the sound, making it possible to distinguish the frequencies quite well.

A little more power and deeper bass are missing, though. The type of music played, however, affects the result, as the highs are sometimes excessive. 19 millimeters high and 75 millimeters low are used for this. In general, the experience is in proportion to the size. And by the way, it has a technology called Ambient IQ, which adjusts the volume of the voice software to the noise in the room.

The physical buttons are completely hidden. With a simple tap at the top, you can pause playback or adjust the volume. To find out if there has been an interaction with the functions, the LED lights are protected by the fiber that covers the entire device. On the back, another button allows you to turn off the microphone. It has no other type of connection or port except the one needed to connect to the outlet.

Although it is a device used to listen to music, it is part of the smart device ecosystem. So users can provide oral instructions to perform certain actions, such as requesting traffic information, saving weather, saving reminders, and assigning a task to the associated Gmail account calendar.

With this speakerphone, you can make calls through digital services like Google Duo. It also allows you to control the TV if it is compatible or if it has a player like Chromecast in many of its variants. But nothing has changed compared to other branded speakers.

The American company has managed to increase the capacity of the digital assistant Assistant, which is the “brain” that manages requests via the Internet. That’s why you need to connect to your home Wi-Fi network. The process is simple and requires a Home app available for iOS and Android mobile phones. Just open the tool and follow the steps when the device is connected to the mains.
