The Department of Education has presented the Vocational Education offer for the 2023-2024 school year, offering 825 new places in the public network of VET centers. There are a total of 28 new units, 14 new High Level cycles (two in Basque), 7 new Middle Level cycles (2 in Basque), a new Basic Level cycle, as well as 2 double-degree experimental training course units and 4 specialization cycles.

Carlos Gimeno, the Councilor of Education, pointed out that with this offer the Department consolidates the significant increase in places promoted in the legislature, going from 32% to 40% in the enrollment of vocational training students. These figures bring Navarre closer to the goals set by the European Union.

The released report offers 165 different titles, integrated into 24 of the 26 existing professional families. From the 12,217 students who started in the 2019-2020 academic year, it has reached approximately 15,200 VET students by the 2023-2024 academic year; that is, it represents a growth of 25%.

The VET offer for the 23/24 academic year is launched with a promotional campaign "Tu futuro a un paso / Acércate a FP / Sin salir de casa", "Your future / One step / Come to VET" under the slogan. The proximity of citizens to the 36 centers of the network and the territorial cohesion it provides.

In the case of Intermediate and High Level Cycles, the registration period will be extended from April 24 to May 5.

The Minister of Education has determined that 825 places will be offered next academic year, increasing the offer in 10 new degrees and programs (21% increase) and 46 new groups (25% increase), a total of 6,607 first-year places in face-to-face mode, and a total of 1,140 new access places in the online mode.

Counselor Gimeno explained that in the last four years there has been an exponential and sustainable increase in the offer, because he has optimized the occupation of the centers to adapt to the new groups and because he has expanded the hours to allow access to training for a wide variety of audiences. In this sense, secondary schools are included to strengthen the offer of Pamplona/Iruña and the Region, with multi-purpose cycles in the Administration and Commerce sector, with important professional opportunities, as well as teaching to continue in other levels of education.

The councilor emphasized that in the next two academic years (2023-24 in an experimental way and in 2024-25 in a general way), the provisions of the latest Vocational Education Law will be fulfilled, the students must guarantee. At least 500 hours of a cycle of 2,000 curricular hours are formed in companies divided between the two training cycles.

The offer presented includes a great diversity of professional profiles, continuing to incorporate new qualifications. 10 different new profiles are offered, 6 of which are advanced cycles and 4 specialization courses. These courses cover gender equality, health documentation, creative industries and 3D animation or sound, robotics, drones or energy auditing, as well as artisan bakery and pastry. The offer is very rich both in professional profiles and in modalities (face-to-face, online, dual, bilingual and at different Basic, Intermediate, Advanced or Specialization Levels), which provide practical and quality training.

The department continues its commitment to specialization courses (VET master), with four new additions, Intermediate and Advanced, which allow VET students to be trained at the highest level to meet the cutting edge requirements of the production sectors.

Counselor Gimeno pointed out that 9 out of 10 people who do Vocational Education find a job, and the rate increases if it is Dual Vocational Education.
