Navarra awarded diplomas to 115 VET students

Vocational Education students and teachers have completed training stays in 10 European Union countries through the Erasmus+ program.

In total, 115 Vocational Education students who participated in the European Erasmus+ program in the 2023-2024 academic year received diplomas certifying the training practices carried out in 10 countries of the European Union last September 20.

In a public event, in the meeting room of the Department of Education, 71 students of Higher Vocational Education, 50 students of Intermediate Level and 61 students of Basic Level received their diplomas certifying their training stays in Lisbon (Portugal), as well as those who were in the following places: Berlin and Schwanau ( Germany), Krakow (Poland), Salento, Parma, Milan, Vicenza, Avezzano, Catania and Florence (Italy), Nay (France), Malta, Lappeeranta (Finland), Utrecht (Netherlands), Maribor (Slovenia), Antwerp ( Belgium) and Dublin (Ireland).

The general director of Vocational Education, Digitalization and Education Services, Luis Calatayud, was present at the event. He was accompanied by Ricardo Goñi, the representative of Rural Kutxa, who gave a check for 550 euros to each student of the higher vocational education degree. Each check is issued by Rural Kutxa, since this entity contributes to this program. They receive this amount of money according to the regulations of the European Commission, these students receive less Erasmus grants than middle school students.
Some of the participants of the European Erasmus+ program had previously trained in Navarre workplaces, and completed their European internships after obtaining their degree. Others, from March to June, did official internships in European companies and were then validated to obtain the qualification.

In addition to these three-month mobility programs, in the last academic year 182 students of Basic Vocational Education, Intermediate Degree, Special Vocational Education and Higher Level have participated in short stays of 10 to 15 days. On the other hand, 33 vocational education teachers have spent 1 or 2 weeks in groups or individually.

One of the main objectives of Vocational Education is the continuous adaptation to the requirements of companies of qualified workers. Most companies in the Community of Navarre have considered internationalization as a strategic challenge for development and market opening.

This new trend has encouraged Navarra Vocational Education to take on the challenge of internationalization and to promote training in companies and organizations in other countries, through initiatives and programs funded by the European Union.

The Navarra Government recognizes its ability to manage Vocational Education Mobility projects through the Erasmus+ Program.

The European projects in which he participates through vocational training are:

z  European mobility projects Erasmus+KA1.

z  Interreg POCTEFA.

z  European innovation and cooperation projects.
