In Navarre, "VT to Your Measure"

The enrollment campaign for Vocational Training in the 2022-2023 academic year in Navarre, presented on 25 April, is entitled: "Vocational Training is the size / Vocational Training for Your Measure".

The campaign, presented by the Minister of Education Carlos Gimeno and the Director of the Planning and Innovation Service of the Esther Monterrubio Primary School, will take place from April 29 to May 10, in intermediate and advanced cycles, in telematic format or in advance.


The Minister emphasized the growing value of Vocational Training studies, adding that the offer offered by the Foral Community in the coming academic year is "a lively, current and future representation that suits any person and group" in terms of the image of variability in all vocational education. relocating the advertising campaign.


On the other hand, Esther Monterrubio, Director of the Vocational Planning and Integration Service, stated that "this is a guarantee process so that, as far as possible, each person can get their favorite option". As a novelty, this academic year distinguishes between intermediate and advanced enrollment, which increases the chances of choice. The Department of Education urges students and families to turn to guidance professionals to make the best choice in balancing their wishes, skills, and professional future.


Along with the public enrollment campaign, a personalized letter will be sent to the families of students completing ESO and Baccalaureate, with all the information about the wide range of Vocational Training courses on offer. It has a QR code, which will be updated automatically and continuously.

New offer

The offer for the 22/23 academic year has grown to 31 new training cycles and programs, an increase of 13% year-on-year, and the total offer is in a dual format. The network of primary schools in Navarre will offer a total of 6,020 places. There are 157 vocational training courses and programs (273 units) in 24 vocational families, making Navarre the most diversified Autonomous Community in the State.


The public offer was presented on March 22 with significant innovations such as viticulture, water management or audiovisual production or specialization courses. Since that date, there have been a number of innovations: a specialization course plus one presented at the time, specifically Gardening and Floristry; new basic 12-grade groups have been added, from Estella to 3;


The process of admission to secondary education is completed in July, and the allocation of any vacancies is set for September. Registration for the first final list will be from July 4th to 11th. The higher enrollment process is in line with the university calendar.

The vocational training offer for the 2022-2023 academic year will grow by 31 more cycles and training programs in Navarre, an increase of 13% year-on-year. The network of primary schools in Navarre will offer a total of 6,020 face-to-face places, of which 495 have been created. To these will be added another 480 new places in online training modalities, which will lead to an overall increase of 975 places, with the entire offer in a dual format. A total of 157 vocational training cycles and programs (273 units) will be offered in 24 vocational areas, making Navarre the most diversified Autonomous Community in the State.


The offer for Primary and Plastic Arts and Design was presented by Carlos Gimeno, Councilor for Education, and Tomas Rodriguez Garraza, Director General of Vocational Training at the Department.


They both emphasized that Navarre was making "significant progress" towards European levels of vocational training, with the aim of 47% of students choosing this type of educational training. In the 2018-2019 academic year, the amount was 32%, and now it has reached 38%, reducing the gap by 6%. With the offer planned for the 2022-2023 academic year, the number of students enrolled in the different Vocational Training cycles and programs is expected to approach 40%.


In addition to its strategic objectives, the Department of Education has set out to adapt the supply to the needs of qualified professionals in the production sectors, to distribute the supply more equitably throughout the territory, to make a "significant commitment" to strengthening languages ​​(bilingual programs), and to meet the demand of students and their families. Strengthen the value of vocational training to make it more attractive, flexible, diversified, high-quality, closer to all students and more inclusive.

Specifically, the offer for the next academic year will include: 14 new intermediate cycles, one of which will be online; 12 new higher education cycles, all bilingual and 3 online; and 5 new specialization courses (called VT masters). In addition to the new cycles, there will be another 4 rooms for Applied Technology (ATECA), another 19 rooms for Entrepreneurship and, as an innovation, a Digital and Experimental Classroom.


The increase in supply has led to an unprecedented increase in the number of primary school students, which has risen by 21% in the Intermediate and Higher Levels in this legislature.


It is a “high-growth and highly diversified” offer, focusing on 24 of the 26 families in the National Qualifications Catalog, and has created three new professional profiles for the coming academic year: senior technician in viticulture and winemaking, audiovisual and entertainment. senior realization technician and senior water management technician. In addition, the offer establishes a high level of territorial cohesion: of the 31 new units, 16 are located in Pamplona and the Pamplona Basin, 4 around Tudela and Corella and the remaining 11 in the rest of Navarre. The cost of this offer will be 3 million euros for the Foral Community of Navarra.


In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the following subjects: Computer and Communications (109% increase), Agriculture (57%), Energy and Water (200%) and Installation and Maintenance (50%). In this way, the challenges of digital transformation and sustainability are clearly addressed.


Also, in the 2021-22 academic year, in collaboration with the Public University of Navarre, the “2 + 3 Talent Plan” has been launched with 60 students from the Higher Training Cycle in Administration and Finance; With the addition of some additional modules, they will be able to start their university degree in Business Administration and Management or Labor Relations in the 2023-24 academic year, which can be completed three times instead of four years.
