The Government intends to incorporate the Ibero-American countries. It will be developed in public-private collaboration, including the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. English reaches up to 90% in many of today's AI systems.

The Government of Spain wants to promote the development of artificial intelligence (AI) with a model that takes Spanish and the country's co-official languages as a training base, given the current language pre-eminence of English.

The Spanish Executive points out that language models for AI require massive corpora of linguistic data, and currently English reaches up to 90% in many of the current systems.

The project, a pioneer at the European level, seeks to have a model that provides companies with language technology services to develop advanced applications such as intelligent assistants, conversational systems or content generation models.

And the Government aspires to promote the deployment of generative artificial intelligence in the productive fabric, the scientific system and in the design of public policies, pursuing "the balance between the active promotion of a technology full of opportunities and a necessary humanistic vision with which to avoid biases and prejudices".
